Wai Jia Tam, a medical doctor, has taken 16 trips to support humanitarian causes around the world. Her four published books have raised more than $150,000 to build an orphanage in Nepal and help fund a guesthouse that employs formerly trafficked women in Cambodia. She spent a year in Uganda in 2014 as a missionary, spearheaded healthcare partnerships internationally, and delved into research in underserved populations. She is also known for her recovery from depression.
